When you grew up, was there dangerous wildlife around your homeplace?
I walked out to catch the school bus. In spring there were a lot of " ticks" ., seed ticks, chiggers, and big ones. One extremely embarrassing moment occurred due to one of those big ones. I was sitting in class, up front, of course. I was very self conscious...tried on every article of clothes I had in the morning before school, rolled my hair every night, etc., I was sitting there, listening intently, put my hand to my forehead. There was a big lump, I was mortified. I flicked my wrist , discreetly I thought, there was a huge thud on the floor and this big grey thing lying there. I was further humiliated, so I took my foot and mashed it,discreetly, I thought squirted all over, made a big noise.Of course, it did not, but I though it did. I could have died. Class, realllll class there, showing. I know they laughed until they died. I did not.We had foxes, and reports of wolves and migrating wild life. There were a lot of snakes cottonmouths, water moccasins, copperheads,, etc.One was occasionally seen in the woodpile, around the underside of the porch, woodpile, pond , barn lot, fence row in front of the house. I would wheel the kids around in the wheel barrow, the nieces and nephews, tote them around and push them in the swing. I did have mothering and protective instincts..There were occasional reports of rabid animals wandering into people's yards. They are not afraid of people, they are, as they say, mad.We also had a lot of tornados in the spring. We lived on or in the area of the NEW MADRID earthquake fault line. Never a dull moment.....there were a lot of " ticks" ,i.e., seed ticks, chiggers, and big ones." could have died....of embarrassment." I tried on my clothes, to find something just right for the day, I cared so much how I looked and what people said and thought.

So wildlife experts I have met say that anyone can survive in a gang infested neighborhood on the street where people are getting shot left to right, no biggie. A lot of my friend who live in those bad neighborhoods say that it is easy to handle a wild animal like a Lion or Tiger and it is nothing compared to handling the animals on the street.So who do you think would have a tougher time and why.1. I know nature is awesome and learning about new creatures is even more interesting. However, why is it that white ppl think they can tame WILD animals? Case and point, what occurred at sea world? This is not the first time that an animal has attacked curious trainers who thought they could take the wild out of the animals and domesticate them. This is the third time that a killer whale has tried to kill, maim, or has killed a trainer. Then nobody learned from Siegfied and Roy when he was killed by his own tiger, nor does anyone care about what happened to Steve Urwin with the sting rays. I mean, why are you whites such daredevils? Things/events to do for Wildlife Conservation Club?
So I started a Wildlife Conservation Club at my high school and I was if anyone had any suggestions on what events and things we could do? So far we've gone to parks, hiking, helped at zoos, and adopted animals online. Can't help at adoption centers because we're not 18 yet. Thanks in advance.

Signs of times?With many of these types of events occurring worldwide, my mind keeps pondering the 2010 Oil Crisis with not only the catastrophe effecting water, but also atmosphere as the efforts to burn mass amounts of the oil on the surface can be credited.
