I am looking into doing a volunteering holiday for max 2 weeks. I know they are usually for 6months etc but less the better,as work,mortgage etc. would love to work with animals especially chimps or elephants. I have been looking at loads of websites about it but would prefer reviews of people who have been there. Would love to know if you need lots of money to spend and tips.Thanks in advance

Should elephants have human rights?
Ok, so I read how they want to give Apes human rights...HUMAN rights. So...I thought, hey, why not give the elephant human rights as well. I mean, it has self awareness, understands art, has a well structured society, and has highly a developed memory.In fact, let's throw the dolphin in the human rights list as well, seeing as Chimpanzees, Gorillas and Orangutans are being thrown in the melting pot.Isn't an elephant human enough? Chimpanzees are human enough for it, so are Gorillas. So why can't an elephant have human rights? How do you work around the idea of being human?Sorry, I just read something irritating about PETA wanting Human rights for apes. So I want to know if PETA ignores the other intelligent lifeforms on the planet.Human rights isn't wrong. Without it there would be so much chaos. Why are we, in the " age of enlightenment" regressing to the stone age again? Eh?

I have been having a recurring dream about a herd of elephants wandering along the beach. In this dream, I was driving along the coast with my family when we suddenly saw a crowded beach covered with elephants. We pulled over, surprised but not too shocked, to a place on the beach where there were friendly baby elephants. We got out to take pictures of them, and they were running around and playing with us like dogs. There were elephants of all sizes along the beach, some with tusks, though they were all grey and looked normal. I was a bit apprehensive because there was a large elephant coming towards us. It then started to charge at us, and I tried to get my family to move out of the way thinking we're going to be killed, but they didn't seem bothered by it at all. We ducked behind our car and the elephant ran past us without a problem. The dream was very vivid and I've had it several times this month.What do elephants represent, and why would they appear in someone's dreams, especially lots of them near the ocean?Thanks for any interpretations.

What is the significance of The Elephant in Christianity?
I work in a cathedral and above one of the pillars, slightly hidden is the carving of two elephants. They are either playing or fighting. I just thought it is rather unusual although I have seen carved choir stall elephants before. The stonemasons would have never seen a real elephant before so it could be that they were immigrants although they still wouldn't carve an elephant unless it had religious meaning?Any info would be most appreciated.

ahahahaha My sister is in africa, doing research.. and she sent me an email, telling me how they were chased by elephants. So I went to youtube it, and I had to laugh some of those videos were hilarious.. hahahaAHHAHA what an experience hey?LOL I was chased by a yorkie poo, those small white dogs, and it jumped and bit my ass lmfaoahah, yeah she told me that it was one of the most frightening experieces she ever had haha but I just died laughing when I saw videos hahaaha
