Culturally speaking: Street life or wildlife, which is tougher and why?
So wildlife experts I have met say that anyone can survive in a gang infested neighborhood on the street where people are getting shot left to right, no biggie. A lot of my friend who live in those bad neighborhoods say that it is easy to handle a wild animal like a Lion or Tiger and it is nothing compared to handling the animals on the street.So who do you think would have a tougher time and why.1. A wildlife expert trying to survive in a gang infested neighborhood where shootings happen often.2. Among all the wildlife that has recently migrated to me, a new edition is a hawk. Is this a bad thing?
I have a load of squirrels and a family of chipmunks that live on and around my house. I haven't seen my rabbits in a few weeks, but I think they are bundled up.I don't know...maybe the hawk got them.The hawk showed up a week ago or so. Today, it brazenly disregarded me within 5 feet of it to swoop in and kill a squirrel I was looking at. I had my camera in hand and captured the whole thing.So this hawk is now coming into my family's little area, and terrorizing it. Murdering innocent mammals. I fear for household cats, small dogs, and babbies left out to dry on the porch.Hawks Endangered species or neighborhood menace? ...You decide.
How long do you think a wildlife expert (like Bear Grylls) would last in a bad neighborhood in the US?
Obviously those guys can eat snakes and deal with the wildest animals. Well how would they fare if they were asked to deal with the monsters in the streets of the US which are filled with gang members, murderers and drug lords?
Wildlife Disaster: Theories?
Signs of times?With many of these types of events occurring worldwide, my mind keeps pondering the 2010 Oil Crisis with not only the catastrophe effecting water, but also atmosphere as the efforts to burn mass amounts of the oil on the surface can be credited. Any theories?Scientists are leaning toward Pathogens, but I haven't really made up my mind on the matter because the events are worldwide as they also seem to localize specific species.I realize that Pathogens would actually strengthen this theory, but I also think that oil spill would as well.Don't even mention some Ancient Mayan prophecy. There are so many theories tied into that 2012 Armaganda that it has become nothing more than another stupid Y2K fail of epic proportions. Things/events to do for Wildlife Conservation Club?
So I started a Wildlife Conservation Club at my high school and I was if anyone had any suggestions on what events and things we could do? So far we've gone to parks, hiking, helped at zoos, and adopted animals online. Can't help at adoption centers because we're not 18 yet. Thanks in advance.
